Human Resources and Skills Development Canada (HRSDC) continues to research and
support occupational information through the Essential Skills Research Project (ESRP). Ongoing
interviews and analysis have led to the preparation of 98 additional profiles. By adding these
in September 2009, ESPORT now contains 378 unique occupational profiles. |

| Even in the summer... and on a Friday... there was lots going on when two members of the
ESPORT team dropped by the GREAT facilities in Ohsweken, Ontario for coffee, conversation, and a
tour of the facilities. We looked in on active welding and automotive shops, saw employment
preparation and job search taking place, and admired the relaxed but serious atmosphere of the
whole institution.

Success is sometimes measured in small steps. Working with residents of the western Manitoba community
of Opaskwayak Cree Nation (OCN), the job coaches of FireSpirit discovered that ESPORT could launch
discussions of what could be in addition to identifying immediate employment options.
