Evaluation
Using principles of Participatory Action Research (PAR), evaluators will observe and report on the delivery of ESPORT in three programs and approximately eighteen local delivery agencies (LDAs) across Canada. The evaluation will strive to involve all participants collaboratively in a meaningful evaluative process and produce useful and timely information to achieve valid evaluation results.


Evaluation Consultants

Patrick J. Fahy, Ph.D., lead evaluator , is currently associate professor in the Centre for Distance Education, Athabasca University. He has authored more than 100 papers, evaluative reports, and articles on aspects of learning, strategy development, and distance education and e-learning. Formerly Director of Research at AVC Edmonton (now Norquest College), Dr. Fahy was formerly president of the Movement for Canadian Literacy, and was actively involved for many years with the Alberta Association for Adult Literacy.

Jason Fahy, associate consultant, holds a B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alberta. He is an educational assistant and tutor, math and sciences, Norquest College, Edmonton, and a research and evaluation associate of P. Fahy Consulting.

Ramona Materi, associate evaluator, is a consultant and instructional designer, with degrees in Economics, Public Affairs and Environmental Science. Ramona recently completed a Master of Distance Education at Athabasca University, with a focus on the development of distance education systems.
